Band C refers to Council Tax. Council Tax bandings go from A (the lowest) to H (the highest), and are based on the market value of the property in 1991 (or an estimate of what it would have been worth if the property was built after 1991). The exact amount you pay will vary from area to area, but your local council website should give details of the charges for each band.

Depending on how much your property is worth it is banded from A onwards for council tax purposes. Not sure what the lowest band is. My house is Band C and I pay around £1,200 a year (approx) for my council tax. No, maintenance payments aren't included.

It refers to the council tax banding. Your banding will tell you what you pay. This is subject to lots of variables, including the value of your property and your local authority (they set the prices). Try this website for more info
